First, let me say a few words about Irina Dmitrieva-Vann, an artist whose name needs no special introduction, at least in Dushanbe it is well-known. When introducing an artist, it is common to mention where they studied, exhibited, and what awards they received, but it seems to me that the artist is best represented not by biographical data, but directly by their works. So, I will simply attach a few photos, not all of them, of course, we need to keep some intrigue so you still have something to see when you visit the exhibition. I myself will not discuss the paintings in terms of technique, skill, and so on – things I don't know much about – I will only say that I really liked them. There is something very captivating, in a sense mystical, in Irina Dmitrieva-Vann's paintings... But, it's better for you to see it with your own eyes. There is still a month ahead during which you can visit the exhibition; go, you won't regret it. By the way, the works can be purchased for your private collection; at the end of the article, I'll include a photo with prices and contact information.
The opening ceremony was very interesting, at least for me; there were many creative and well-known people of the city. People were chatting, taking photos, giving speeches; overall the atmosphere was very friendly, relaxed, and light. Irina Dmitrieva-Vann is also known as a singer-songwriter, accompanying herself on the guitar, and at the ceremony she performed several songs. During one of the songs, there was an improvisation; among the guests was a dancer named Rafoat, and she performed a dance. It was wonderful, very spontaneous, sensual, original; it's safe to say this impromptu performance was a success. Speeches were given by the General Manager of the Serena Hotel, friends, and Timur Zulfikarov also said a few words. While the manager's speech was more of an official introduction and greeting to the artist, the speech by the master, i.e., Timur Zulfikarov, was about culture and its significance in the modern world, the connection between culture and business, and the consequences of the absence of such a connection – in short, brief, imaginative, to the point, as befits a master of words.
And now, the paintings:
I'll post photos from the ceremony without comments, because it's not enough for a full report, as I didn't set myself that task, maybe that was a mistake... But still, I'll post a couple of shots:
